The Hermit Upright Tarot: What Does It Mean?

Sharing is caring!

The Hermit upright tarot card represents the inner guidance that we seek which often stems from being alone and without distractions. Have you been searching inside your soul lately for the answers?

The Hermit Upright Tarot

During times of our life, we do need to bring ourselves inside. It’s a warm and nurturing place where we can heal and find the answers to the next phase of our existence.

When we were children, our parents would draw us inside or give us a time out to read books. This is important for our growth and as adults, we’ve forgotten how vital this work is for our soul.

This alone time is very difficult in today’s world of massive noise and distractions. From cell phones to social media, we’re glued to information which is mostly irrelevant. Instead, we should focus on healing our soul from the inside.

Card reading

On the top of this mountain we see The Hermit. Our readings are done with the Rider Waite deck and this is a Yes tarot card which reminds us to draw ourselves inside.

The Hermit Upright Tarot Card Reading

We see the snow which represents the mastery it takes for someone to climb to such heights. This took much personal growth and accomplishments, and many others never made it.

This pathway of self-discovery has given him a state of inner awareness like never before. From this perspective, he has acquired wisdom that serves him long into the future.

The lantern he is holding represents that the pathway is only lit for a short distance. During the climb, he couldn’t see the top but only the next few feet. This was enough to provide inner encouragement, especially as he undertook this journey on his own.

Given that he’s reached the peak at nighttime, it shows that he didn’t give up until he found success. He could have turned around and gone home at any time and indeed, so many people do.

Both during the climb and at the summit, he has had time to go inwards and speak to his inner guiding light. The one that has waiting for so long for connection. That time has come.

Your inner escape

The Hermit Upright provides an invitation for all tarot card enthusiasts to escape into their inner world. One where they will be secluded and away from the distractions and responsibility of the physical world.

It’s here that many find the true essence of their calling. Where knowledge and truth come forth, and where the layers and baggage simply dissolve. If your soul has been tapping you on the shoulder, this is a chance to find the answers in the quietness of an otherwise noisy world.

From here, your vibration can finally start to increase. Your conscious understanding and acceptance of your fate is cemented through however you determine that to be. Every answer is waiting inside of you.

Some of us simply wait until it’s too late. Have you ever heard of last-minute yoga retreat bookings? These happen far too frequently once someone has absolutely lost touch with themselves.

Instead of waiting until the low times, find a space now in which to escape. Perhaps that’s just a few hours on the weekend to level the devices behind and nurture yourself. Pull out the gratitude journal or create a new vision board which helps you better understand your values and principles.

After all, you know there is something inside of you bursting to come out. It’s been asking for your attention for quite some time, and that time is now.

Next steps

Across numerous religeions, people seek to go on a pilgramage. It’s here that they better understand themselves and the world around them, and thus create a sense of resonance.

They don’t have all the answers. In fact, the trail often isn’t fully mapped out. They rely on their intuition to guide them through this journey, all the while knowing they will make it to the top alive, however long that may take.

It’s time for you to undertake your own soul-searching journey…starting today.
