The Nine of Wands Upright: What Does It Mean?

Sharing is caring!

The Nine of Wands upright card represents the courage and persistence that we must cultivate to get through the many hurdles in life.

We are stronger than we’ll ever give ourselves credit for. Now is the time to begin strenghtening the mind, body, spirit and soul.

The Nine of Wands Upright

We’re always going to experience times when we’re being knocked down. If you aren’t being knocked down routinely, then you’re playing it too safe.

The Nine of Wands Upright meaning

There are people who want to take us out. They don’t like us rising too high. They see us as a threat to their own insecurities and problems in life.

It’s a sad fact that society has become this way. We are living in the very best time ot be alive and society has found a way to unify itself where wars are fast becoming a thing of the past.

The online world has created unprecedented opportunities as well as unprecedented risk. Online bullying has reached an all-time high between adults. If you’ve ever seen a scuffle inside a Facebook group, then you’ll know exactly what we mean.

When you stand up for what you believe in, as we do here at Yocean Yogi, you’ll soon attract the attention fo the haters and critics. Stay firm and grounded. Realize that you have the resources deep inside of you to ascend further. If you aren’t tested – are you really that strong?

Card meaning

The Nine of Wands upright is a ‘No’ tarot card in the Rider-Waite deck. In a love reading it means having faith and trusting that both parties will become conducive to each other’s growth.

Yocean Yogi psychic reading of The Nine of Wands Upright
We’ve used the Rider-Waite tarot deck for this reading of The Nine of Wands Upright.

We see a man who is injured and is clutching one of the 9 wands which stand upright in the field. His shoulder is strung which shows he recently was hurt in a battle, as was his head.

Such battles aren’t over for him yet. This isn’t the time for him to scurry away and hide. Instead, he must find his inner strength and resilience to go further. To get to the finish line knowing that such an easy route isn’t possible.

This is much like the game of life. We come into this world as children believing that things are easy. As adults, we realize the fault of our own niaveity. One thing is for sure: We need to culvivate resilience.

Unlike us, the man on this tarot card doesn’t have time. He must act quickly! Others are coming and once they discover him and his vulnerabilities, then the attacks will certainly come.

Can’t hurt you

There is a fantastic book called ‘Can’t Hurt Me’ by David Goggins. Perhaps you’ve read it or at least have heard of it. In summary, it’s the story of David who has pushed himself to new heights well beyond what humans believe is possible.

You must strive for more. Why? Because you are going to fall short anyway. If you strive for more, yet fall short, you’ll still have built a stronger and more resilient character in the process.

Nobody can hurt you if you’re truly as strong as you claim. Difficulties will come in your direction. Attacks of jealousy and rage are all too common in the digital world we live in today. There is no need to tone down your light to make others feel more comfortable. It’s time to shine!

If you do shine, then you must also be strong. The oppressors are coming! With such a strong shining light, you’ll also have supporters. Those who will protect you and encourage you to keep going in the midst of the battle.

You are more

There is so much untapped potential hidden inside of you. Perhaps you’ve felt this way for some time. That you can build a stronger foundation for yourself and your life, if you would only open your mind.

Tarot card 9 of wands upright

Many of us are only mildly consicously aware of our untapped potential as co-creators in this physical experience. We have vast energy stores that our rational and logical mind keeps hidden as it strives to protect us from conflict. David Goggins is one example of an individual who has transcended beyond this.

You too can reach new heights of personal discovery. You will fail often and when you do, get up one more time. You’ve got this and the universe is behind you all the way.

It’s time to cultivate radical resilience before the oppresors find you again. Start today!
