The Seven of Cups Reversed: What Does It Mean?

Sharing is caring!

The Seven of Cups reversed is our awakening of what we want – our dreams, wishes, hopes and ambitious pursuits. Unfortunate, it isn’t reality.

If you’re the type to ponder about the future, then this is yours.

The Seven of Cups Reversed

You might be dazzled with the lights. You see others being successful and you simply imagine you being even more successful without the effort.

The Seven of Cups Reversed meaning

Months and years have perhaps gone past while you’re still in this day-dreaming state of mind. “This will be easy!” or “Ha! I’ll manifest this in seconds” and indeed, this is a trap for many.

Years ago a famous documentary came out called The Secret. Was it fantasy or reality? A bit of both actually. Many believed that they could simply think of something and it could come into reality, akin to winning the lottery.

Unfortunately – this gave rise to an excuse for many NOT to take action. What they have forgotten is that the Law of Attraction finishes with the word action. Once the dazzling lights have been turned off, it’s indeed time to hustle.

Card analysis

Let’s have a closer look here. What we see appears complex. We see the 7 cups in the clouds. Has anyone ever exclaimed “I think you’ve got your head in the clouds” – then such starkly negatively comments might actually have some truth.

We have used the Rider Waite standard tarot deck for this reading but you may use any you desire.

Psychic reading of The Seven of Cups Reversed

We all have the power to dream big. In fact, we encourage it here at Yocean Yogi. Why play small when the world offers so much abundance for those willing and able to receive it!

Too often many of us are on autopilot. Some to think of lofty goals and as this tarot card proclaims, do get themselves into the clouds believe what is actually possible. The problem is…once we come down to earth…we gotta work.

Yeah…that scary word: WORK. You’re probably overworked already, but the universe demands more of you. It is, unfortunately, the only way to make genuine progress today.

Dreams should be goals

Dreams can only manifest into reality through genuine action. But first, dreams need to be goals.

Goals are tangible. They are measurable and require the individual to actually do something.

We all know that. It would be nice to rub a magical genie and bring a huge flow of dollars into the bank account. Unfortunately, that only happens in the movies.

By all means, start out with some soul searching. What is it that you truly want? A bigger house? To travel the world? Become better at reading tarot cards? To go to that spiritual festival that you always wanted to?

Once you’ve really thought about it, then it’s time to write it down. Dreams really need to be on paper, where they then become goals. Real, tangible things with deadlines that can be acted upon.

The universe doesn’t act upon this. You do. Yes, there is a flow-state that one needs to get into to make things inherently easier, but the onus is still on you to achieve it all!

Going forward

The reversed Seven of Cups card also represents people in a sleep-walking state. Those that live in another reality.

There are 3 types of people that we see in the world:

  1. Those that are sleeping through life (and they don’t even know it!)
  2. Those that have dreams, but are still sleeping. Hoping. Wishing. Praying.
  3. Those that have goals and are awake to achieve them…every single day!

The question is: Where do you want to be? Certainly #2 is the place of magical fantasies and daydreams. #1 is a place where most of the world lives, where #3 is where results actually happen.

Seek to become empowered. Set those goals and take daily action. Remember the Law of Attraction has the word action ingrained.

Very few people actually win the lottery. Let’s stop sleep walking, shift our energy and build a plan that takes us to new heights.
