The Seven of Pentacles upright represents a calling to look inside and find gratitude for your progress in this physical journey called life.
If you haven’t been appreciating your thoughts at this moment then this is a time of reflection. This tarot card is a chance to build stronger foundations.
The Seven of Pentacles Upright
It doesn’t matter how small, all of us manifest good things in our lives. We are conscious beings and we are created for this. Such achievements shouldn’t go unnoticed.

We recommend using a gratitude journal. This is a fundamental building block to help you progress further while acknowledging just how far you’ve come. Think of this like a school report but for adults.
By stopping and seeing how far we’ve climbed, it’s a chance to find inspiration and affirmation in the moment. If we can do this, then how much further can we go? A lot…actually.
Card reading
The Seven of Pentacles upright is a ‘No’ tarot card. We have used the popular Rider-Waite series of decks though you are welcome to use any that you desire. The meanings are fundamentally similar in general and love readings.

We see a man in the field. Such fields look very nicely cultivated and obviously created through conscious intent. The man views such fields with pride and accomplishment despite the fact that nothing can be harvested just yet.
It’s clear that this was hard work. He laid down those seeds many moons ago and only now can he relax and see his rewards. They aren’t quite here yet, but today there is a field.
In this he has mastered self-confidence. This only comes about through hard work and passion. He loves what he does and doesn’t need to pretend. We look at his clothing and see the authenticity and genuine nature of his pursuits.
This break of his isn’t a break. It’s feeding his mind with good vibes and energy. It reminds him of what the human mind, body and soul is truly capable of achieving…if we’ll only take a break.
Pause and reflection
Often we’re shunned for taking time off. For example, in the United States, workers only get 2 weeks of vacation per year! The rest of the time is to be spend working harder and harder. No wonder unhappiness is at an all-time high!
We all need to stop from time to time. It’s akin to having your car serviced. You wouldn’t let it run for years without being inspected. When you’re pausing and reflecting, you’re also doing an service. You’re brightening the spark within your soul.
Perseverance is a gift but is trumped by those who know when to rest. During this period you may wish to use meditation to help you ‘reset’ and recharge. For others, they reach for a bottle of wine though often it’s over-indulgence.
Ultimately, your mind is strong but needs nourishment. It’s gone through some tough times and you need to thank it for staying strong and resilient. It’s carried you through from then until now.
Going forward
Start listing today all of your accomplishments. You were here to create results and even the tiniest of results are those you should be proud of. Maybe that’s a new job or losing weight. Write it down!

Positivity is what the world needs and indeed it’s food for your soul. It’s a layer of soil to build stronger roots so you can go forth towards new heights of personal discovery and your ambitious pursuit of creating good on this planet.
There are things you’ve given up on. This happens to the best of us! Yet there are others that we can be proud of. We’ve done it and today it’s ours for the claiming.
Take it in – it’s yours.
