The Seven of Swords Upright tarot card represents doing things which aren’t socially responsible. You may have betrayed or deceived someone without actually realizing.
Sometimes we may go through life seemingly unaware of the bad things that we have instilled upon others. Fortunately, there is a way to deal with this unintended karma.
The Seven of Swords Upright
Are you doing things that aren’t in the best interests of others? Are you simply serving yourself? This is a question that might seem strikingly odd, but we’re often not aware that we’re getting away with something.

We may be getting away with things which we don’t even realize. The judgement of others might be a clue or we may feel something deep inside our soul that stirs something up.
This sense of deception isn’t good for our personal growth. It may cause us to feel like we’re cheating others or simply betraying ourselves. Are we taking shortcuts to achieve what we desire? If so, this card is a reminder to stand up and pay attention.
Card Reading
The Seven of Swords Upright is a ‘No’ Tarot card. This is based on the Rider Waite decks.

We see here depicted a man who is sneaking away from the castle. He has 5 swords but has left two behind. It seems odd…a little strange…even a little sinister. That smile on his face gives it away.
He knows what he is doing might be perceived as wrong, but he’s doing it anyway. He is trying to avoid suspicion and alarm from others. It’s almost as though he expects to come back later for the other swords.
The number 7 represents luck. He believes he’s lucky for not being caught while knowing what he is doing is betrayal. Others have trusted him and while they may never discover his deception, he will always have to live with the pain of regret.
Eventually, he will have to come clean. His soul was born pure and won’t be able to cope with the dishonesty of choosing to keep secrets that others should have known about.
In a love reading, it’s very clear that the Seven of Swords Upright represents mis-trust and dishonesty. Someone dear to you (which may not be your spouse) isn’t being 100% truthful in their conscious existence.
The victim
The Seven of Swords Upright suggests that we are either the perpetrator or the victim. If we know we have a clear consciounce and go through life with honest traits, then we might be deceived right now.
Someone might be sneaking around your back. They’re doing things which on the surface seem perfectly fine, but there is an ulterior motive. If you’re not paying attention, then you may discover that not everything is as it seems right now.
Keep an eye out for this behavior. Sometimes you might even develop it yourself without realizing. Be strategic and keep an open mind that is also reserved. Someone that can articulate information effectively.
This is also a tarot card that speaks of commitment. Are you trying committed to what you are obsessed with? Or do you proscratinate and simply cheat yourself out of the opportunities of growth? Cutting corners isn’t a wise move and only those who play a long game actually thrive.
Accountability is Growth
Having accountability right now is paramount. It’s a chance to check-in with someone and ensures you’re both on the right track. You’ll be able to go deep on issues and can get stuff off your plate.
Some call this radical transparency. By being transparent, organisations of any size are able to grow as they can trust their team mates for the long term. Individuals can very much do the same.
Such accountability draws upon your intuitive state as well. When something doesn’t feel right, you’re able to speak up instead of waiting for the perfect opportunity. There are no cover-ups.
It can be tough bringing such touchy subjects to the surface. No one wants to be questioned but if their motives are clean, then there is nothing to worry about. This includes youself – have you bee operating with full transparency?
Going forward
It’s a wonderful time to be alive where conflict is at an all time low. Yet deep inside our soul, we know there are people who can’t be trusted. Sometimes we can’t even trust ourselves.

If you’re in a position of repsonsibility, then you need to ensure that you or those around you are acting with full ethics. With such high morals, we find those who we can trust for the long term.
Are you, or is someone you know, getting away with deception?
