The Six of Cups Upright: What Does It Mean?

Sharing is caring!

The Six of Cups Upright tarot card means that we must rekindle our childhood memories and cherish the past to help us create the future.

While some do linger in ‘old times’ without progress, you can use such experiences to remember what you desired to accomplish.

The Six of Cups Upright

We are all made to have fun in life! While there are times that we certainly need to ‘get stuff done’, it’s ultimately so we can live a life of freedom. That’s best accomplished through returning to our core; this child-like state of wonder.

The Six of Cups Upright meaning

When yoga teachers talk about returning to our authentic selves, this is what they’re ultimately touching on. Finding our selves back in such happy memories brings about positive emotions and progress.

This is what our soul ultimately lives for. That warmth and joy we found in our younger years. We need to bring this forth to the present as this ultimately can lead to a higher vision for our life.

Card meaning

The Six of Cups Upright is a ‘Yes’ Tarot card which represents the need to rekindle to our younger life, at a time when life seemed one of unlimited potential. We have done our psychic reading using the Rider-Waite tarot series.

Psychic reading of The Six of Cups Upright

We see a young boy leaning down with a cup full of flowers. You may have encountered such an experience either as the boy or girl. This symbolizes the kindness and non-judgemental nature of children. It’s where we ultimately shine!

Children are humans of creativity, wander, co-operation and harmony. They are born with so much desire to soak up knowledge and work together towards the greater good of the planet. Unfortunately, our school system doesn’t allow them to take skills as deeply into their adult lives.

This then is your message to return to that self. We see the older man who walks by in the background. He has decided that such childhood joy is beyond his rational mind. Instead, he has chosen safety and security as we can also see symbolized with the family home.

What he doesn’t realize is that all adults have the potential to return to such joy. If you’ve ever seen adults using a trampoline, then you’ll never see them sad! Perhaps it’s your time to play too.

Your happy que

This is your time to start enjoying life once again. As a child, you have enjoyed many great wanders that the world offered. From forest walks to beach sculptures and art classes, such activity was created to enlighten your mind and allow you to prosper with your creative self.

As an adult, we’re the type to hide and cover behind our ‘grown up’ selves. While society wishes for you to be mature, we also want you to be open-minded and curious as to what the world offers. The world still has much magic to offer to adults like us – we just have to open the gate.

Have you seen the craze towards adult coloring books? This is a solid reminder that the world is awakening. For now, we’ll partake in such joy behind closed doors, but this is only temporary.

Soon we’ll be dancing. We’ll be in more joyous states of being as we lose the judgemental feelings from others. It only takes one person to start a tribe of dancers, and you could be that first follower.

Lastly, we occasionally have times when we can start fresh. It’s a new chapter in life without the limitations of yesterday. A blank canvas for which to paint, laugh, dance, sing and smile!

If you’re looking for the right sign, then this is it!

Going forward

Many say we can’t dwell on the past. We say you can! Provided they are the right thoughts.

Tarot card meaning

Remember the times when you smiled. Where you had joy and laughter and when everything seemed possible. We didn’t know what we wanted to be when we grew up….but it didn’t matter!

Now as grown ups, we can choose to be a child again if only for a moment. To smile, connect, create, laugh and find harmony with our lives.

It’s time to be a spontaneous child once again!
