The Two of Wands Upright: What Does It Mean?

Sharing is caring!

The Two of Wands Upright tarot represents the need to plan for the future and make decisions which lead to monumental progress.

If you are to push forward, you’ll need to discover what matters to you the most.

The Two of Wands Upright

We need to find our inner inspiration and plan for the future that is yet to arrive. This comes in the form of setting proper goals and working intuitively and constructively to achieving such ambitious pursuits.

The Two of Wands Upright meaning

These important decisions need to be made today. After all, this is YOUR future which is in your hands. No one really has control upon the outcome of your life.

As the producer and the main actor, we have the utmost responsibility to see this succeed from concept to completion. Yet…we must do this authentically and not be a copy of another.

Card meaning

We have done a card reading of the Two of Wands Upright using the Rider Waite series which is a ‘Yes’ tarot card. Here we see the man standing and dressed well while holding a globe.

Our psychic reading of The Two of Wands Upright
The Two of Wands Upright – Rider Waite

The globe held in his hands symbolizes the world that lays before him. Indeed the responsibility is in our hands. While others might feel the weight of the world is crashing down, the man sees opportunity that requires strategic planning for the greater good of humanity.

While ambitious in his pursuit, we also see one striking obvious problem: Where he is. The man remains safely nestled in the comfort of the castle. Like a boat in the harbour, the man isn’t designed to live the remainder of his life here. The time for retirement is long into the future.

The land in the background isn’t so attractive as the castle. This represents the reality of venturing out beyond the confines of a safe habour. For us – this is our comfort zone and we don’t desire to go beyond it.

If the man is to ‘find himself’, he will eventually need to plan well for the future and a roadmap to essentially get him through the challenges of life. From here, he may eventually have his own castle. We say ‘may’…since in life, nothing is guaranteed.

The initial plan

Once we have come to the place in our minds where opportunities and possibilities are plentiful, it’s time to create an initial plan for our lives. You can get as detailed or as brief as you desire. Our #1 pick is to use a vision board.

As popularized by the Law of Attraction movement, using a vision board will bring forth into your internal mind the things that inspire you. For much of this, it’s material possessions. As you go forth in life, you’ll realize that life is less about the material and more about the growth, impact and contribution that one can bring to the world.

Indeed, the world is depending on us right now. We must rise when others would simply ponder. After all, there are plenty of opportunities that surround us in each and every moment.

The harsh reality

We will be challenged on this personal quest. This is the harsh reality that very few people prepare us for. Fortunately, with a plan in your hand, you will find your way through the woods to be less guessswork.

When you reach the lowest of lows, realize you’ll know why you’re here. It’s detailed in the plan you already created. Perhaps you want to create a better life for your family or do good in your community. This ‘why’ is the thing that keeps you going forward.

Another harsh reality is the critics. You will stumble upon many who doubt your plans to succeed. Our suggestion: Find a stronger tribe. The man on the Two of Wands reversed will need a stronger tribe. Those in the castle are happy where they are, while those beyond the walls are truly going places.

Going forth

Use this time strategically. Start writing down the things which are most important to your quest. Before we save the world, we must save ourselves. Go deep…even if this takes you a few weeks.

It’s your time to plan well for the future ahead…even if it looks daunting.
